My art works have been inspired by mythological subjects, happenings and figures. During the creation of the universe there was always chaos, but in each different cultural mythologies there were many powerful figures who brought the brightness, order and justice to the world. One of these figures is Maat who had been played a role as goddess for justice and truth, order and equity during the creation of the universe in Egyptian mythology. She had been a powerful figure who brought the order to the universe during the chaos time. On this painting you see Maat as modernized figure in 21st century as Pop-Art style.

In mythology, everything in the universe was set up in balance against imbalance; e.g. darkness in chaos, brightness to renewal, and birth to death. When the universe was existing, the darkness and brightness were on fight each other in chaos. The universe and life has been within this vicious cycle of contrasts. “Chaos II” expresses the fight of darkness and brightness’ surpassing one to another. While all of these contradictions have been occurring since the universe was in existence, there is always renewal. The feathers symbolizes the renewal. There is no end or beginning, only regeneration in the universe and the world.
